Adding VIN to Existing Vehicles

You may see an alert asking for the last six characters of your vehicle’s VIN. This is quick to fix and helps ensure your vehicle is properly protected.

Why We Ask for the VIN

The last six characters of your VIN are used as a secondary identifier to help protect your vehicle from:

  • Incorrect citations

  • Invalid enforcement actions

  • Being towed if a license plate is unreadable, missing, or entered incorrectly

If a license plate can’t be matched, the system checks the VIN to confirm vehicle ownership.

How to Update Your Vehicle VIN

Option 1: From the Alert

  1. Click the “Update” button shown next to the vehicle in the alert.

  2. You’ll be taken directly to the Update Vehicle page.

  3. Enter the last six characters of the VIN and save.

Option 2: From Your Dashboard

  1. Sign in at my.parkingpass.com.

  2. From your dashboard, select Update My Vehicles.

  3. Under Actions, click the dropdown next to the vehicle and choose Edit / Update Vehicle.

  4. Enter the VIN (last six characters) and save your changes.

You can also update other vehicle details on this page if needed.
