Understanding Parking Violation Severity Levels
ParkingPass uses violation severity levels to help explain how different parking rules are enforced at your community. These levels indicate how many warnings, if any, are issued before enforcement action is taken.
What Are Violation Severity Levels?
Each parking rule at your community is assigned a severity level based on how enforcement is structured. Severity levels help residents understand what to expect if a rule is violated.
There are three severity levels:
-
Light
-
Moderate
-
Severe
How Severity Levels Are Determined
Severity levels are automatically assigned based on the number of warnings allowed before enforcement action occurs:
-
Severe
Tow or enforcement action occurs on the first violation, with no warnings. -
Moderate
One warning is issued before a tow or enforcement action. -
Light
Two or more warnings are issued before a tow or enforcement action.
Severity levels update automatically if the enforcement structure of a rule changes.
Where Can I View Violation Severity?
Residents and property managers can view violation severity levels directly in the system:
-
Open your property in ParkingPass
-
Navigate to Parking Rules
-
Locate the rule in question
-
View the Violation Severity displayed alongside the rule
Important Things to Know
-
Severity levels are informational only
-
They do not override the actual parking rules
-
Severity levels cannot be manually changed
-
Changing how many warnings a rule allows will automatically update its severity
Always review the specific parking rule details for the most accurate enforcement information.
